A new style policy is in place at Melrose.
Manatees now can wear any color polo shirt with their khaki, navy blue, or beige bottoms.
Although this is a great look for scholars, the following guidelines are still in place:
- No jeans
- No jeans Shorts/Skirts
- No short Skirts/Dresses/Shorts
- No Sweatpants
- No crocs, slides/flip flops
Scholars also must tuck in their shirts.
Some scholars say they like the new policy.
“I think the new dress code is nice,” said Amir Williams, a fifth grader. “I like it because it’s easier for me to pick out my clothes.”
Javarous Peterson, a fifth grader, agreed.
“I like the new dress code because I can wear any color polo,” he said.
Fifth grader Mi’Angel Willams said he thinks the new dress code “is good, but could be better.”
“I would like to wear more comfortable clothing,” he said.
Sam Hester, a parent, said he thinks the new dress code makes it easier for parent to dress their scholars.
“Overall wonderful idea,” he said.
